It was based with the RCAF in Europe 1955-1970 then allotted CF-BKR in Jan/72 but by Dec/72 it was off the CCAR with no foreign registration or accident data found. Transair acquired this DC-7C from Northwest Airlines in 1965 and here it is still in basic NWA livery. Later they repainted it in the red/gold scheme which I saw when I moved to Winnipeg. Photo Date: On 15 May 1985 Credit: Tim Martin Date Uploaded: 21 November 2015 Airframe: Curtiss C-46F Commando, s/n 44-78649 USAAF, c/n 22472, c/r C-GIBX Notes: C-GIBX at Winnipeg on 15May85 - As far as I can determine, this was the second 1980s Curtiss Commando for Ilford-Riverton, who changed name to Northland Air Manitoba about this time. First seen on 03Apr85 and here still without titles (doubtless while they sorted things out), it has been fully painted in a livery that would set the trend for later additions.
