    Notes: The Fighter Collections P38 Lightning was towed by road along the A14 from Felixstowe Docks to Ipswich Airport early one morning. It was soon assembled and flown. Unfortunately it was destroyed during a flying display at Duxford in 1996.

    Notes: One winters day in 1990, a pair of ex-US Navy fighters were towed into Ipswich Airport by road, prepared by engineers, and flown to Biggin Hill by Squadron Leader Rod Dean. The new owner was the late Doug Arnold.
