    Constructed as a RF-101C-40-MC by McDonnell at Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.

    29 October 1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 56-0166.

    29 October 1957

    Transferred to 18th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing (Tactical Air Command), Shaw AFB, SC.

    27 November 1957

    Participated in Operation Sun Run. Four USAF pilots of the 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing successfully completed Operation Sun Run by establishing three new transcontinental speed records in a McDonnell RF-101C aircraft. The record-breaking mission showcased the speed and range of the RF-101C, an improved version of the first supersonic photo reconnaissance aircraft, the RF-101A. (NMUSAF).

    January 1958

    Transferred to 432nd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, Tactical Air Command, Shaw AFB, SC.

    April 1959

    Transferred to 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, Tactical Air Command, Shaw AFB, SC.
    Deployments to Langley AFB, VA and Eglin AFB, FL.

    October 1962

    Flew vital low-altitude reconnaissance during the Cuban Missile Crisis and helped confirm that offensive missile sites in Cuba were being dismantled. (NMUSAF).

    November 1965

    Transferred to 39th Air Division HQ (Pacific Air Forces), Misawa AB, Japan.

    March 1966

    Transferred to 45th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 460th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing (PACAF), Tan Son Nhut AB, Vietnam.
    Deployments to Misawa AB and Kadena AB, Japan; Andersen AB, Guam; Hickam AFB, HI.

    November 1970

    Transferred to 153rd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 186th Tactical Reconnaissance Group (ANG), Key Field, Meridian, MS.

    27 October 1978

    Ferry flight. Delivered to National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
