    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Air Force with s/n A68-912.
    Never issued to operational unit - In storage at 1 AD and Tocumwal until sold.

    Assigned to RAAF Tocumwal, NSW for storage.
    Stored under cover.

    23 April 1958

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the Royal Australian Air Force.

    6 November 1959

    To F. Chris Braund, Tamworth NSW with new c/r VH-FCB.

    To Jack McDonald, Melbourne-Moorabbin VIC keeping c/r VH-FCB.

    Notes: CA-18 Mustang Mk.22 VH-FCB was at Bankstown on a wet day in May 1962. This regular airshow performer was sponsored by Civil Flying Services, Moorabbin. It had been operated since 1960 by Jack MacDonald, a Brain and Brown Airfreighter DC-3 pilot, although VH-FCB remained registered in the name of its original civil owner F. Chris Braund, because among the DCA restrictions placed on ex RAAF Mustangs was that they could not change civil ownership.

    Crashed.
    Crashed on landing.

    Remaining parts were used in the restoration of USAAF s/n 44-72917.
