    Constructed as a C-47A-25-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-93461.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n KG616 as a Dakota III.

    To unknown owner with c/r G-AJAY (DOUGLAS C47 DAKOTA 3, 13375).

    To Iberia with new c/r EC-AET (Douglas DC-3 (C47-A25-DK), 13375).
    Operated with fleet number 52.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ejercito de Aire with s/n T.3-67.

    Markings Applied: 745-67

    12 March 1966

    Damaged.
    Malaga.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with s/n ECT-025.

    To Kurfiss Aviation with new c/r.

    3 October 1980

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was a loss. There were two fatalities. The ferrying/positioning flight departed Madrid-Cuatro Vientos Airport (LECU), Spain and was destined for Perpignan Airport (PGF/LFMP), France. The accident occurred at between Madrid and Perpigan (Mediterranean Sea) while en route. Narrative: The DC-3 aircraft had been decommissioned by Spanish Air Force and stored at Madrid-Cuatro Vientos Airport. It was auctioned in July 1979 and bought by Kurfiss Aviation of Germany to become part of an aviation museum...

    Notes: Ref ECt025, I have discovered various pieces of wreckage of what looks like a DC3/C47, I am not an expert, but this picture looks like a engine cowling of a DC3/C47. The above aircraft disappeared 03/10/1980 onroute Mardrid to Perpignan in the Pyrenees Orientales(French side). In this area there roughtly 20-22 pieces of wreckage of small to medium size. Any input from your end would be appreciated.
