The accident occurred at the Cyril E. King Airport (STT) ST. THOMAS while taking off. The damage was substantial. The pilot lost control of the aircraft during takeoff with a slight tailwind component the aircraft ground looped. Later, the pilot realized that the tail wheel was not locked.
