    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n D6856.

    Circa 1920

    Moved to South Africa as part of the Imperial Gift of aircraft in 1919/20.

    Circa 1947

    To South African National Museum of Military History, Saxonwold, Johannesburg, Gauteng.

    From 1990 to 1996

    Restored.

    One of only six remaining in museums throughout the world. Since it was not intended that the aircraft would ever fly again, damaged structural parts were repaired instead of replaced to retain as much as possible of the original material. The port side of the fuselage was left uncovered to allow visitors to see the construction of the aircraft.
