    Notes: 1985 photo at Winnipeg - A rare post-WW II DC-4 (originally built for Western Air Lines), it had later been converted from pax to freight. While in Calm Air service it was wrecked when the crew tried to squeeze it into a 3500 ft gravel strip

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. The executive flight departed Kasba Lake, NT, Canada and was destined for Hidden Bay Airstrip, SK, Canada. The accident occurred at Hidden Bay Airstrip, SK (Canada) while landing. Narrative: The aircraft undershot the runway and the right main gear struck the runway edge. The wing then failed. The DC-4 was on a flight from Kasba Bay to Hidden Bay.
